K'hanna Fos Page
This page is about a personal project of mine, regarding a dnd character and world. I've thoroughly enjoyed writting about the world and coming up with stories in it, and even have considered writing a book set in it. I decided to share much of the information I have about it, especially its conception and ideation, as both a way of demonstrating the process and hopefully helping others formulate new ideas.
The main idea behind K'hanna (pronounced Kuh-On-Uh) is that she was a member of an advanced and ancient civilization, living in an arcane utopia. A calamity struck and she ended up sent thousands of years in time into the future, in an unfamiliar space.
To be honest, what I'm most interested in is the world she lived in before calamity struck. I wrote quite a bit on it, but I'll try to keep in concise.

I wanted her race to be based off of Final Fantasy's Miqo'te, specifically the ones in ffxiv. The race, called the Feli'Nox, is seemingly extinct in the place K'hanna ended up in, so she has to conceal it with big hats, cloaks, and other little tricks. I especially liked the naming conventions of Miqo'te, and after studying some of the variations on it, I made her name a mix of them, giving her both a tribe name and a family name, which is meant to be reflective of the cultures both progressive and traditional nature.

These three sketches are all meant to demonstrate what Callidym, the city of the Feli'Nox, looked like. Citizens of Callidym were called the N'feliix. The city was substantial, and its boarders were almost entirely natural, mountains, cliffs, and seas dictated most.
The city was governed by a magocracy run by archmages, guild heads, and other important citizens. One such guild was known as Kas'Atelier. Eventually, I would repurpose the name for my modern fantasy manga project.
F'errum Fos was K'hanna's father. Though it's not very legible, I have plenty of niche details about the city and it's people in the sketch to the left.
The ancient language, called N'felese, is simply the language used in Violet Evergarden, called Nunkish. It looks very pretty, and is just how I imagine the utopian people's language. I'll write in the language for some notes to try and immerse myself in the space/the perspective of the writer, as though it was autobiographical.

Here I have a bunch of info about the Kas'Atelier. They are a guild, called the Mellee Kas'Atelier focused on developing skilled spellswords, wizards who are versed in combat and use enchanted adamantine blades to channel their arcane energy. I experimented a lot with all the different kinds of blades that might be used, given that blade is such a broad term all manner of weapons could have been used by a Kas'Atelier.
Additionally, I included some magical symbols the N'feliix would use for their ancient magic. My thought was that the N'feliix language would persist through time in two ways. First, the magic symbols would become obscured, and those that survived would be used by thieves to mark buildings. Second is how magic is used now. Magic, even in The Forgotten Realms, is about the tone and inflections of the caster far more than the words themselves. Modern mages take this into account, using the scraps of the N'feliix language that they know to write spells due to the language's natural inflections and rhythm.

Here are some more Kas'Atelier sketches.

Down here are some notes about K'hanna's life in the new world. Sometimes I would write notes entirely in N'felese, and even sketch in the way I imagined she might try to sketch.
Below are some more sketches about K'hanna's design and the place she lives in now.
